All sorts of good
Its been so long since ive written and i have had so many fun and exciting things happen in my life. I couldn't wait any longer to write or else i would have forgotten so much.
A few weeks before April conference, my dear friend, Sally, hosted a woman's feast night in preparation for General Conf. The purpose was to be surrounded by amazing women who have faith in Christ and to share experiences that strengthen our faith. We all came from different backgrounds and experiences. Sally gave us each a topic to lead a discussion where we could all share our testimonies on that topic. I actually chose a talk by Elder Rasband called " Be Not Troubled" which i had read a month or so before and it really help me. There were others who talked about music and the gospel, temples and faith as women in general. We had dinner, dessert, sleepover and breakfast and yoga in the morning with some fun crafts. Reese came with me and it was such a great experience for both of us! I love late nights with girlfriends! It was also so nice not to have any "mom" responsibilities. Bless Jareds heart for taking her for 2 days. It was very much needed.
General Conference
We had the chance to go to the conference center for one of the session and got floor sets right behind several general authorities and their families. I absolutely love conference and love hearing the words of the prophets. I love President Nelson and know he is a prophet of God. He knows what the world needs and how to help us draw closer to Christ. I promised myself i would write down my thought after conference. Here are a few highlights.
A quite from Elder Soares-
If you have loved ones who have left the covenant path, dont worry. The lord knows them & their path. He is watching out for them. All you do is LOVE THEM!
(this was HUGE for me!!)
Sister Craven-
There is a CAREFUL way to live the gospel and there is a CASUAL way to live the gospel. Chose careful.
President Eyring-
Prayers in the family plays a crucial role in living a Christ like life.
Elder Bednar-
The home is the primary Missionary Training Center. the MTC is the secondary.
Elder Mckay-
God does give immediate HOPE while we wait for EVENTUAL deliverance
Elder Rasband-
Ways to fortify yourselves during these times of trouble..
1 Obedience
2 trust in the lord
3 Make and renew our covenants at church and at the temple.
4 have integrity
I truly believe these words of wisdom and counsel are crucial to survive in these last days. I am so grateful to be surrounded by beautiful people who are striving to be more like Christ and who uplift me and bring joy to my life. I am so happy Heavenly Father has blessed me with a knowledge of Jesus Christ and that that knowledge has lead me to where i am today.
The week after conference i went on ANOTHER girls trip down to St. George with some of my girl friends from high school. We have been in touch with about 11 of us for the last year on Marco Polo. We planned a trip and Steph, Tori, Brianna, Robyn and Kelsey all came! We had a blast. Shopping without kids, dinner without kids, and sleep without kids! It was a ball! Its been so good to catch up with them and bond as friends 11 years later! Its been a great month and now we just put an offer on a house and starting a new chapter in our lives! We just found out 2 days ago so there are going to be lots of changes in the next month or so! Exciting times!
